The Pope’s voice appeared 'weak and slightly breathless', Italian media noted, as he addressed a thousands-strong crowd
got straight back to work on Sunday one day after being discharged from hospital, leading a Palm Sunday Mass in St Peters Square to kick off Easter celebrations.
Bundled in a long, white coat and red vestments, the Pope sat in a chair under a canopy erected in the square for the Mass.Pope Francis presides over the Palm Sunday Mass Deviating from his prepared speech, Francis spoke about a homeless German man who recently died, “alone, abandoned,” under the colonnade circling St. Peter’s Square, where homeless persons often sleep.He also thanked well-wishers who had expressed concern for his health, adding: “I thank you for your participation and prayers, that in the last days you intensified. Thank you!”
