Sir Ed Davey MP: 'The real problem with Humza Yousef and the SNP is that they want to break up the family of the United Kingdom - they are so obsessed with independence that they're not focusing on the real issues Scottish people are facing.'
Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab has told Sky News that the government will"look at" putting migrants and asylum seekers on barges while their claims are processed.
Asked if such a policy would be illegal - as some suggested when Rishi Sunak previously floated it - Mr Raab said:"I don't think it would be illegal, it depends on the circumstances, the conditions." Mr Raab was also pushed on the opposition to one of the proposed RAF bases set to be used to house migrants.
And it is still considering whether it could also use ships, converted barges or ferries for the same purpose. The funeral is taking place at midday, with both PM Rishi Sunak and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer to attend - alongside the current Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle. So Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab will face down against Labour's deputy leader Angela Rayner. On one memorable occasion last year, Mr RaabWhat did government previously say about using boats to house asylum seekers?
"But we need to bring forward thousands of places, and when you talk about vessels all I can say is – because we are in discussion with a wide variety of providers – that everything is still on the table and nothing is excluded."
