Businesses are reminded to use counterfeit markers on big bills.According to Southern Regional Police, there have been multiple reports of suspects using"motion picture" money -- movie prop cash designed to look like the real thing -- to make large purchases and pocketing the change.
" In the quick exchange of cash, businesses are not noticing they are in fact fake," the police department said."Businesses should use a counterfeit marker for large bills for verification. Police are asking for the public and businesses to stay vigilant and be observant of large cash purchases. Examine the bills and if they are fraudulent or suspicious please contact your local police department.
