An information session will also be held March 23 at 7 p.m. at the Police Services Building. Confirm your attendance by emailing, a news release states. "Being an auxiliary member of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is an exciting and fulfilling volunteer position," the release continues. "Auxiliary constables support the service in many ways including community festivals, parades, street parties and sporting events.
"Through their volunteer work auxiliary members gain unique insight into the world of policing. Auxiliaries can join our members on patrol and learn more about the community and experience what an officer does during a shift. Many of our current officers began their career as an auxiliary constable."
