A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was walking across traffic in the 1500 block of El Camino Real when they were struck by the suspect vehicle, which subsequently fled the scene, South San Francisco police reported.
A pedestrian was fatally injured in a hit-and-run collision in South San Francisco early Wednesday morning, and police sought the public's help to locate and identify the driver.
South San Francisco Police Department officers were called just after 1:05 a.m. to the 1500 block of El Camino Real, just south of Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, on reports of the collision and found the victim injured at the scene, according to a department statement. The victim died of thier injuries at the scene, police reported. Their identity was withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
