He sent 'flirty' messages from his personal mobile phone
A policer officer allegedly used Snapchat to send sexual comments to two vulnerable women who he met while investigating incidents. Jamie Gibb, who now no longer works for Northamptonshire Police, is now facing a misconduct hearing in relation to his behaviour.
He work working as a constable for the force when a distressed woman flagged down a police car and asked for help following a verbal disagreement with her ex-partner. After speaking to Gibb, the woman, named only as Female A, was identified as a medium risk of harm and "vulnerable to an abuse of authority".
He is then alleged to have sent her messages and called her from his private phone inviting her to contact him through the Snapchat. Gibb is said to have made a number of sexual comments in the messages to the woman and asked her to send him sexual images.Gibb was then called to a different incident on September 21, 2020 following reports a woman was harassing her estranged partner. He then reported she distraught and inconsolable" at the breakdown of her marriage.
But Gibb is said to have then sent her 'flirty' messages from his personal mobile phone and asked her to download Snapchat so they could communicate further. Gibb is now facing a misconduct hearing, to be chaired by Chief Constable Nick Adderley on Wednesday at 1pm. His alleged conduct with both women was inappropriate as it represented an abuse of authority for a sexual purpose, which in turn amounted to conduct which was likely to undermine public confidence in the police.READ NEXT:
