Anchorage police are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found in Russian Jack Springs Park in East Anchorage.

APD's crime scene vehicle as well as several cars were in a small parking lot in Russian Jack Springs Park, where police were investigating a report of bodies found Thursday.

from police, officers responded to 1600 Lidia Selkregg Lane in Russian Jack Springs Park South around 3:15 p.m. Thursday for a report of two adults who were dead. Asked about the location and under what circumstances the people were found, spokesperson Cherie Zajdzinski said Anchorage police had nothing to add “as it is an active investigation.”

The address on Lidia Selkregg Lane corresponds to the chalet and parking lot in the southern half of the park. A chalet worker said Thursday that when police arrived, they asked to be directed toward a pavilion near the Russian Jack Springs Golf Course. The Anchorage Police Department’s crime scene team responded to the area. No streets were closed to traffic.

Police said that the cause of death for both adults will be determined by the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
