Half of all missing registered sex offenders in Scotland are believed to have travelled abroad, according to police statistics.
The statistics also confirmed that 11 of the missing RSOs are categorised as 'high risk' while 18 are considered 'medium risk' and one as 'low risk'. Detective Chief Inspector Graeme McLachlan, National Sex Offender Policing Unit, said: “Protecting the public is a top priority for Police Scotland. We keep the number of missing and wanted registered sex offenders under close scrutiny and give the highest priority to locating them.
