Officers are appealing for information over a fox believed to have been killed by an off road bike. Whilst looking for off-road bikes in the Beacon Hill Nature Reserve in Newark, members of Nottinghamshire Police came across a deceased fox laid on one of the walking paths.
They suspect the fox was hit by an off road biker, and that this led to its death. In a Facebook post, Sherwood Police: Ollerton, Clipstone and villages stated: "Whilst searching for off-road bikes on the Beacon Hill Nature Reserve Newark, officers sighted a deceased fox which was laid on one of the walking paths.
"We suspect that an off-road bike has been used to hit the fox which has caused extreme unnecessary suffering to the animal and ultimately caused its death. We are unable to share photographs of the fox due to the graphic nature of them."
