'It's not good enough': Plague of anti-social behaviour and violence could spell end for vital east Lancs buses
Anti-social behaviour and violence on evening buses serving the Barnoldswick, Colne, West Craven and Skipton areas have been raised by Pendle councillors, with calls for urgent talks and action between transport firms, the police and other authorities.
"I regret that there are no police officers at this meeting tonight because I thought we could discuss tactics, such as CCTV cameras on buses and bus stops. Clearly there are issues in Colne."We wonder if we could have a concerted approach to discuss things with the bus companies. Stagecoach 208 buses are not effected. I'm not sure about town services. But we need round-table talks between the bus operators and the police.
Conservative Coun Rosemary Carroll said Lancashire County Council is due to have talks with bus operators this month.Pendle Wizz services by Transdev have the Burnley Bus Company brand. These connect Burnley and Colne via the M65 motorway with Kelbrook, Barnoldswick and Skipton in North Yorkshire. Earlier in the meeting, the West Craven Area Committee had a police and crime update. However no police officers were present.
