A video posted on TikTok Saturday showed a man in a Burnaby Fire Department t-shirt swearing and making a racist comment during a road rage incident in Pitt Meadows, but Burnaby fire Chief Chris Bowcock says the man isn’t a Burnaby firefighter.

Burnaby’s fire chief says a man caught on video swearing and yelling a racist comment at another driver during a road-rage incident in Pitt Meadows this weekend “is not, and never has been” a Burnaby firefighter despite his sleeveless Burnaby Fire Department t-shirt.

“You can’t see there’s traffic?” the man yells. “You can’t wait with your family? That’s pretty f***ing stupid. That’s how you get f***ing beaten up.” The TikToker who posted the video said it happened at Harris Road and Lougheed Highway at 4 p.m. on Saturday during the Pitt Meadows Day celebration, which shut down Harris Road for part of the day.
