The answer comes down to how our bodies age, a physicist believes.

Does it feel like time escapes you quicker and quicker as you grow older? You’re not alone, according to a scientist who has offered a theory explaining this common sensation.

Our brain doesn’t perceive time equally to how we measure it, according to Bejan. The result is the sensation of the “mind time” versus “clock time,” Bejan argued in his study published in the journal European Review. Bejan explained:"The human mind senses time changing when the perceived images change. The present is different from the past because the mental viewing has changed, not because somebody's clock rings. Days seemed to last longer in your youth because the young mind receives more images during one day than the same mind in old age."
