The morning started along the riverbank with the annual Rock Your Roots Walk for Reconciliation. “A big part of the walk is to see these banners and read the messages and stories of the survivors along the way,” event organizer Donna Heimbecker said. Into the afternoon and evening, the Saskatoon Tribal Council hosted a powwow at SaskTel Centre to honour residential school survivors, followed by a concert headlined by Canadian country star George Canyon.Article content
