The historical animators at the Fortress of Louisbourg parade through the streets for the annual Fête de Saint-Louis celebration. Started in what was then New France in 1684 by the bishop of Quebec, François de Laval, the feast that celebrates St. Louis started long before in 1297 when Pope Boniface VIII canonized King Louis IX.
