Forward Ish Wainright is in his second NBA season with the Phoenix Suns.

“It feels good, man,” Wainright said. “Just the beginning. It doesn’t end there. I’m going to work my butt of even more. Me and are going to be in the gym a lot more than we were. I see there are more expectations. I know what Coach Mont wants and I know what to do and I’m willing to do whatever it takes.”
The Suns start a four-game road trip Sunday at Milwaukee with Wainright, who played a key role when they were short-handed due to injuries earlier this season. Wainright, 28, joined the Suns as a two-way player last season as a rookie, had his contract converted to a standard deal going into the 2022 playoffs, but returned to the team this season as a two-way player.
"He shot a lot of shots today, didn't he?" said Payne with a smile as Wainright went 2-of-5 on 3s."That boy signed that deal and was getting 'em up."
