Earlier this month the EPA announced a proposed standard for certain “forever chemicals” known as PFAS in drinking water. This is the first attempt to nationally regulate this type of chemical in drinking water.

They are used in a variety of goods from non-stick cookware to certain fire-fighting foams.
Their toxic properties have also become more widely known since the early 2000’s – even low levels of exposure over time can lead to a variety of health problems, including weakened immune systems, certain cancers, and developmental problems in children, among others.
