Petty gunmen who just couldn't take losing bar room brawl on day of Euro 2020 final
Two gun-wielding thugs who carried out a revenge shooting after a humiliating bar-room beating have been jailed for two decades each.
Matheson contacted Quinn, who he knew had access to a firearm, and arranged to meet him to take his revenge. Quinn drove the pair to collect the gun before making their way firstly to the Saddle, then on to Bowlingfield. In a victim impact statement, Mr Robinson said the shooting had 'turned his life upside down.' His partner and children had moved away from the area as they were fearful for their safety and Mr Robinson said he was worried about repercussions from the incident.
Matheson has convictions for GBH including a stabbing and an incident in which he glassed a man in a pub. Both defendants were acquitted of attempted murder but were found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
