BREAKING: The Percy Jackson Disney+ show has officially cast Zeus and Poseidon. Toby Stephens will take on the role of Poseidon while Lance Reddick will appear as Zeus.
The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series has officially announced the actors who will be playing Poseidon and Zeus. The live-action series, which will premiere on Disney+, is a new adaptation of the book series of the same name by Rick Riordan, which follows a young man who learns that he is the son of the Greek God of the sea Poseidon and is whisked away to a camp for other demigods and mythological creatures.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Today, the official Percy Jackson account has finally revealed that Percy Jackson's father Poseidon will be played by Toby Stephens and Zeus will be played by Lance Reddick. This casting was announced alongside a picture of the actors posing side by side, flanking Scobell. Reddick is dressed in a suit and Stephens is in a more casual, open-collar beach look meant to reflect their characters, though it is currently unknown if these outfits are meant to reflect their actual onscreen costumes, as so far the Percy Jackson series has kept a tight lid on sharing actual production stills.
Reddick has a similarly venerable career, with his most prominent recent role by far being the hotel manager Charon in the John Wick franchise. However, he has held roles in over 100 film and television projects since his career began in the mid-1990s. This includes roles in both White House Down and the sequel to that film's 2013 doppelganger Olympus Has Fallen, titled Angel Has Fallen. Zeus and Poseidon's Roles in Percy Jackson Season 1 Explained Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1 is set to follow the events of the first novel in the series, The Lightning Thief. This means that Reddick's Zeus and Stephens' Poseidon likely won't have very much screen time, though they will both play a massive part in the overall arc of the story.
