A man in his 70s has died after his vehicle left a main road, rolled down an embankment and came to rest outside a car dealership near the A45 in Northampton. Northamptonshire Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.

The collision took place shortly after 12.20am on Saturday, November 26 near Riverside Retail Park on the Lumbertubs Interchange of the A45. For reasons not yet known, a black Kia Picanto travelling along Ferris Row left the carriageway. The car went down the steep embankment and ended up outside the dealership on the retail estate. Emergency services attended the scene and the driver, a man in his 70s, received medical attention.The driver was later taken to hospital, but was declared dead shortly after. Detectives investigating the crash would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have captured the collision on dash-cam footage.
