BELLEFONTE, Pa. - A Pennsylvania judge on Friday sustained the 30-to-60-year prison sentence that former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky received after his 2012 conviction for sexually assaulting teenage boys. Visiting Judge Maureen Skerda resentenced Sandusky, 75, to the same prison stretch as the one his trial judge imposed, which later became illegal because it was based on a minimum sentencing requirement.
The resentencing hearing at the Centre County Court of Common Pleas, just 10 miles from Penn State where Sandusky had been assistant to longtime head coach Joe Paterno, was ordered by a Pennsylvania Superior Court in February.Our Standards:
