DEMING, Wash. — A pedestrian was killed by a snowplow in Whatcom County Tuesday night.

The victim was hit and killed by a Whatcom County Public Works snowplow around 6 p.m. on State Route 9 just south of Deming. A news release from the Whatcom County Public Works Department said the incident happened during a snowstorm and the plow driver immediately stopped to help the victim. “We extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time,” Whatcom County Public Works Director Jon Hutchings said.
