John Cena's troubled superhero saves the world from an alien invasion in a trailer for Peacemaker episode 4. Yesterday marked the 3-episode premiere of Peacemaker on HBO Max, a spinoff of James Gunn's film, The Suicide Squad, and the first television series set within DC's Extended Universe.
The show picks up with Peacemaker after he has emerged from a coma due to being shot in the neck by Bloodsport . Peacemaker is soon given a new mission titled Project Butterfly and a team that includes The Suicide Squad holdovers Emilia Harcourt and John Economos , A.R.G.U.S. agent's who are given the task as punishment for betraying Amanda Waller . The team also happens to include Waller's daughter, Leota Adebayo , and is led by Clemson Murn .
Throughout its first three episodes, Peacemaker has managed to introduce several adversaries for the A.R.G.U.S. team to go up against while showcasing Gunn's signature stylized violence and sense of humor. So far, it seems to be a worthy followup to the director's critically acclaimed Suicide Squad movie, and the show will only likely intensify in the coming weeks. Peacemaker airs new episodes every Thursday on HBO Max. .
