The 14,000-square-foot project includes a new customer lounge, new roofing, LED lighting and added service bays. Once the renovation is finished (likely by the end of 2022), Spitzer Motor City will increase from 60 to 90 employees.
“This has been on our radar for several years,” said Spitzer Director of Real Estate & Development Catherine Schuster, who has been with the company for 24 years. “Spitzer Motor City is one of our top-performing dealerships.
“We’re expanding our service department,” Schuster said. “That’s roughly 12,000 square feet to add another 16 bays. We’re also doing an expansion in the showroom of between 1,000 and 2,000 square feet. Once the renovation is finished, Spitzer Motor City will increase from 60 to 90 employees and provide a broad selection of both new and certified pre-owned vehicles.
Spitzer Motor City was originally located in an old Greyhound bus station located on the south side of Brookpark Road in Parma. “In particular, we added on car wash and detail bays. There used to be woods to the west of our building. We put in an underground storm retention and developed the entire parking lot. So we’re built out completely on our six-acre site.”
