Two people were transported to hospital, one in critical condition, after being struck by the driver of a vehicle in Parksville on Monday.
Two people were transported to hospital, one in critical condition, after being struck by the driver of a vehicle in Parksville on Monday, according to Oceanside RCMP.
The incident happened around 3:20 p.m. on March 6 when two pedestrians were struck at the intersection of Island Highway West and Moillet Street North. Police say paramedics with BC Emergency Health Services transported the pair to hospital, where one remains in stable but critical condition, and the other suffered minor injuries.
The cause and contributing factors of the collision are being investigated by Oceanside RCMP’s Municipal Traffic Unit, with assistance from its General Investigation Section and the RCMP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service, police say. They note that driver impairment isn’t a believed factor in the crash.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.
