AKRON , Ohio - Community members from Akron gathered Saturday for a memorial parade to honor 11-year-old Hunter Ebie who drowned June 7.
Swain spearheaded the event starting at Springfield Assembly of God Church. He is a close friend and a neighbor with the Ebie family. According to family, they search of seashells every summer. This time they were at Conneaut. Hunter was in the water ankle deep, when he was swept under the waves around 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 7 in Lake Erie at Conneaut Township Park, according to his family.Swain said the family never saw any posted warnings of dangerous waters.
