The next stop on the visit was a Petco store in the Midway area. Store employees cheered for the players as they walked inside. After signing and posing for pictures, the teammates gravitated to an area of the store called “The Zoo” where they proceeded to look at snakes, chinchillas, fish and hamsters.
In Chula Vista, Machado walked down Third Avenue with teammates Robert Suarez and Nick Martinez, waving to fans who shouted his name. When he reachedIn Mira Mesa, Tatis Jr. and Darvish high-fived kids at Walker Elementary before. At one point, the group — which also included manager Bob Melvin — stopped at Rady Children’s Hospital to visit with patients, their families and staff.
