There are four Padres and 10 former Padres at the All-Star game
Four Padres and 10 former Padres will be in Arlington, Texas, the next two days to participate in the All-Star game.
Their four pitchers threw 55 pitches at 98 mph or faster, fourth most in a game by any team this season. Most of those came from starter Dylan Cease. He threw three pitches at 100 mph or greater, which was one more than he had previously in his career. He threw 14 pitches at 99 mph or greater, which is twice as many as he had thrown all season.
Additionally, Jeremiah Estrada threw one pitch at 98 mph or faster, Adrián Morejón two and Robert Suarez 21. The Padres have lost three of the past four games in which they scored first. Before that, they had won nine consecutive games in which they scored first.
