As the result of ongoing legal disputes over the rights to Ms. Pac-Man, the iconic mascot has been replaced with a new character called Pac-Mom.
Due to licensing issues, Pac-Man has a new wife in the recent re-release of 1984’s Pac-Land. In 1982, gamers were introduced to Ms. Pac-Man, an externally developed spin-off of the hit arcade classic Pac-Man that featured a female version of the pellet-munching mascot - in addition to refined gameplay that many hailed as superior to the original Pac-Man.
Ms. Pac-Man would go on to be regarded as one of the greatest arcade games of all time, and the character herself would become an integral part of the Pac-Man franchise - appearing alongside her husband in various sequels and spin-offs in the decades since her initial debut. However, Ms. Pac-Man has been the subject of a bitter legal battle between General Computer Corporation and Bandai Namco, the latter of which published the original Pac-Man but never authorized Midway’s follow-up.
so apparently I found out that the Arcade Archives release of Pac-Land that comes out tomorrow was modified to replace Ms. Pac-Man to have the new Pac-Mom character from Pac-Man Museum +.— Nick C. April 6, 2022 Aside from his lawsuit-induced marital issues, Pac-Man has been seeing a sort of renaissance in the form of numerous remasters and new titles - all coinciding with the Pac-Man franchise’s 41st anniversary last year.
Longtime Pac-Man fans now know the most likely reason for this, as well as Bandai Namco’s newfound solution for the ongoing legal troubles surrounding Ms. Pac-Man. Whether Pac-Mom is meant to be a redesigned version of the same Ms. Pac-Man gamers know and love or an entirely new character altogether, it seems like Pac-Man’s new wife is here to stay - and a pioneering mascot of video game history could be gone forever.

He might post it on Youtube someday. He hopes that working for this site will be his first step into the larger universe of online writing, since Megazord technology hasn’t been invented yet and he doesn't seem to have any Force powers.
