CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Causing a disturbance at the Community Outreach Centre and other offences have led to time served for a Charlottetown woman.
"An all too common occurrence," said Chief Judge Jeff Lantz referring to the outreach centre incident in provincial court in Charlottetown on Aug. 29 at sentencing for Teala Dawn Poirier.
Then on Aug. 14 at 7:48 a.m., Charlottetown police received a complaint from the outreach centre. Police were told by staff that Poirier was earlier yelling and shouting at another person. Poirier was arrested and charged with causing a public disturbance.The following day on Aug. 15, Charlottetown police were called again for a complaint against Poirier. This time, Poirier was causing a disturbance by walking in traffic in the parking lot of the Royalty Crossing shopping centre.
Diamond stayed three charges of breach of probation and charges of mischief at the outreach centre and the Royalty Crossing shopping centre.Poirier's criminal record includes a recent conviction in July for assaulting an outreach centre employee."That's not my name but you can continue," she said.
