The airline told her that she needed to speak to an agent when she arrived in Toronto. After filling out several forms, making several phone calls and waiting for a week, she decided to travel back to New York to find her luggage herself.
She was confident about finding her bag because the air tag showed exactly where it was at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. Nevertheless, the thought occurred to her that someone might have removed the air tag from her bag and potentially stole it, she said. When she arrived at the airport she proceeded to the terminal where her bag had been tracked. Upon her arrival, she was met with a large pile of suitcases, a sight she had encountered many times before, leading her to believe that her bag would be among them.
