“There’s been no accountability on the side of the government or the funeral association to help us to try and retrieve this money.” Several other people talked about the need for tighter legislation and accountability for those who take money in advance for services.Kenneth Monaghan’s message was short and simple, he said.Susan MacKay spoke about the funerals her father and her mother-in-law paid for several years ago. They each paid $10,000 in 2012, she said.
