We crave leadership. But the president's daily pageant isn't where it's at. It's with the helpers: Dr. Antony Fauci, Capt. Brett Crozier, and the countless women and men working on the frontline.
A kingdom for a stage, princes to actIt is in our human spirit—our American spirit—to crave strong leadership. Surely it has been in our DNA since our founding. It might be that bit of DNA that has me tune in to the President's daily, dual-hour briefings. I confess, part of what draws me to the President's pageant is the swollen scene: the bloviating, the blaming, the bowing.
In this time of distancing, I know Chris through texts, and his goodness shines through.
