Street closures in Ottawa that slowed traffic to a crawl Friday afternoon also delayed the arrival of the Peterborough Petes at TD Place until about an hour before game time.In a battle for top spot in the OHL’s East Division, Jonathan Melee scored twice to lead the Petes to a 4-1 victory over the 67’s, snapping Ottawa’s winning streak at three games.
Also scoring thee Petes were Tommy Purdeller and Donovan McCoy, while Luca Pinelli replied for hte 67’s.The Petes grabbed a 3-1 lead on McCoy’s point shot at the 2:58 mark of the middle period.Melee gave the Petes the lead on a deflection before the 10-minute mark to give the visitors a 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission.
