THUNDER BAY — Just days after OPP reported a dramatic increase in traffic offences in Northwestern Ontario, the Victoria Day holiday weekend saw multiple motorists charged with stunt driving.
The worst incident involved a 20-year-old man from Russia who was clocked at 160 kilometres an hour in a posted 90 km/h section of Highway 11/17. A 34-year-old Atikokan man was charged for doing 140 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 527, and a 45-year-old man from Thunder Bay was clocked at 94 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Dawson Road.
