Nationwide action, sparked by Super Bowl ad, affected 362,000-plus vehicles equipped with Full Self-Driving software
the recall indicated
that the software may allow the vehicle to act unsafe around intersections, such as traveling straight through an intersection while in a turn-only lane; entering a stop sign-controlled intersection without coming to a complete stop; or proceeding into an intersection during a steady yellow traffic signal without due caution. The vehicle may respond insufficiently to changes in posted speed limits.
• In fact, Tesla’s software update could actually exacerbate problems in the code or even lead to other unintended effects. California deserves better. If NHTSA is going to allow Tesla to soft pedal the dangerous flaws in its FSD beta software, California leaders needs to act with fast, decisive courage.
