The agency apparently believes the laws of physics change when aircraft enter this country’s airspace.

The Federal Aviation Administration’s mission is to ensure the safety of aviation. The agency asserts accurately that U.S. aviation is the safest in the world and rightly deserves credit for this record, as do the engineers who innovated safer aircraft designs.

In nearly 40 countries around the world, careful testing followed by real-world implementation of C-band 5G hasn’t led to the disastrous results predicted by the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics’ report. Rather than look at the evidence, the FAA and aviation trade groups such as the RTCA focused on a worst-case predictive models of their own design.

The wireless industry, realizing it would be blamed for travel and shipping disruptions over the holidays, agreed to several delays. Despite no evidence of interference elsewhere, they volunteered to restrict transmitter power levels and create large exclusion zones around U.S. airports. Wireless carriers offered to apply the precautionary approach used by France — where U.S. aircraft land safely every day.
