I wasn’t alone. Productivity rose 3.8% over the past four quarters, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, while hours worked jumped 13.7%. A Harvard Business School study showed that the average workday in 16 cities expanded by 48.5 minutes, with employees sending 5.2% more emails and attending 13% more meetings.
