Toronto police have been called to a west-end park after receiving reports of a person with a knife, a fight, and several tents on fire during a demonstration.

One person has been transported to hospital with stab wounds after a "demonstration turned violent" at a west-end park, say Toronto police.

Shortly before 10 a.m. on Saturday, officers attended Earlscourt Park, near Caledonia Road and St. Clair Avenue West. According to police, there was a large crowd in the park and reports of a man with a knife, a fight, and several tents on fire.Paramedics confirmed they have taken one patient to a local hospital and are still on scene assessing others.Roads in the area are currently blocked for emergency vehicles.
