There is now just one country music station broadcasting in the Bay Area.

The Bay Area is losing one of its last two remaining country stations.KRTY has been sold to a Christian broadcaster, leaving just one country music radio station in the Bay Area.
Empire Broadcasting announced it sold KRTY, based in San Jose, last week to the Education Media Foundation. The sale comes two years after the death of Empire Broadcasting's 98-year-old president Bob Kieve. "This is the end of a magical era," Empire Broadcasting general manager Nate Deaton said in a statement."Bob would be sorry to see the end of country radio in San Jose, but we know he would be proud to see how the employees at the station have honored his legacy since they lost Bob two years ago. We extend our congratulations and compliments to the entire team at EMF. They have been extraordinarily helpful and respectful during the entire transaction. We wish them the very best.
