Salt Lake City police are investigating a fatal shooting in the Sugar House area early Thursday morning.
Police said that at 2:17 a.m., they received reports of a shooting near 2300 South 1100 East. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot and a “shooter” who “remained on scene and is cooperating with officers and detectives,” according to a news release. “There is no risk to our community.”
The gun used in the shooting has been recovered, police said, but no arrests have been made as of Thursday morning. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
