Principal White House deputy press secretary Olivia Dalton, a potential successor to press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, took questions in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room for the first time.
Dalton, who moved to the White House last summer after a brief stint as U.N. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield's communications director, has engaged with reporters more informally aboard Air Force One roughly eight times.Dalton was joined behind the podium on Tuesday by National Economic Director Lael Brainard, who has been in her post since February, for their briefing room debuts.
