Forum Research poll finds the former NDP MP is down three points as rivals are expected to use the race’s final days to attack her and make themselves the consensus alternative.
Forum Research president Lorne Bozinoff said the election still appears to be Chow’s to lose and the main race is “for second place, to be the leader of the opposition for the next three years in preparation for the 2026,” civic election., which crunches the results of surveys by multiple firms including Forum, Chow has led the race since mid-April.
Myer Siemiatycki, politics professor emeritus at Toronto Metropolitan University, predicts Chow’s rivals will ratchet up “dire warnings” about life in Toronto under the progressive former federal and municipal politician. “Doubling down on negativity will be their strategy to erode support for Olivia Chow,” Siemiatycki said. “This has startedmayoral election issuesThe interactive voice response survey’s margin of error is considered to be plus or minus three percentage points 19 times out of 20.
