The state of Ohio on Friday reported 918 new cases of COVID-19, extending the streak of days under 2,500 to a full three weeks.

on Friday reported 918 new cases of COVID-19, extending the streak of days under 2,500 to a full three weeks.Ohio’s death toll since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 37,018, up 196 from the last report. COVID-19 deaths are reported twice a week, on TuesdaysA total of 7,232,000 Ohioans have received at least one vaccination, representing about 65.7% of Ohioans age 5 and up.

Since the beginning of 2021, there have been 22,067 deaths among people reported as unvaccinated, and 1,134 among people reported to be fully vaccinated. And there have been 64,429 hospitalized Ohioans who were not fully vaccinated, and 4,190 fully vaccinated people hospitalized. Updates are normally provided each Thursday.The total cases being reported likely are understated, as some people do not report at-home tests and others may not be testing at all.
