Dwayne Curry, 34, pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio.
Prosecutors say Curry illegally bought passwords to women’s accounts by using cryptocurrency on various “dark” websites. He targeted women he had seen on TV, the internet or had seen in person, authorities say.
He would use the passwords to search through the email and Snapchat accounts of his victims, prosecutors say. Curry reportedly accessed at least 48 Snapchat accounts and more than 300 email accounts.
