Oakland A’s 2023 schedule: The fireworks dates, and what NL teams come to Coliseum?
OAKLAND – The A’s 2023 schedule, released Wednesday, might be a departure from seasons past but manager Mark Kotsay can see the positives for his club, particularly from a travel standpoint.
“It does a better job of balancing the schedule in terms of every team getting to play each other,” Kotsay said. “Obviously, the divisions may be a little bit imbalanced year to year, consistently, but I do like the schedule.”While the A’s cross two time zones from one city to the next four times in 2023, they never have to cross three time zones to play another away game. The A’s did that once earlier this season, going from New York to Seattle to finish off a 10-game road trip.
“So eliminating those, and that time on the road will always help,” Kotsay said of the three-city trips. The A’s also host Atlanta, Arizona, Philadelphia, and San Diego for three-game sets, and visit Colorado, Los Angeles, Washington, and St. Louis to go with Miami, Pittsburgh, and Milwaukee.
