NYPD officer Valerie Cincinelli was arrested Friday and booked on charges of conspiracy to murder her ex-husband and an unidentified minor girl.
An NYPD officer has been arrested and charged in a murder-for-hire plot against her ex-husband and an unidentified female child.
Federal prosecutors in the Eastern District of New York conducted a series of undercover operations over the course of several months with the FBI in order to unravel Cincinelli’s alleged plot. According to the complaint, a confidential FBI informant was approached by Cincinelli earlier this year with a request that the informant hire a hitman to murder both Cincinelli’s ex-husband and the informant’s own minor daughter.
“Okay, so [the girl] leaves school. You said he knows exactly where she lives, right? … So what’s the problem,” Cincinelli is said to have asked the informant, who was using a recording device at the behest of law enforcement, during a May 13 conversation. On Friday, at around ten in the morning, Cincinelli received a phone call. It was the Suffolk County Police Department calling to inform her that her ex-husband had died. FBI agents had instructed Suffolk County authorities to deliver the news of the ex-husband’s fictitious death in order to see how she would react.
