The death of Jordan Neely is still under investigation after he was placed in a chokehold on a New York City subway train after allegedly acting aggressively toward other passengers.
Dozens attended a vigil Wednesday to call for justice for Jordan Neely, the homeless man who died in an altercation on the New York City subway Monday afternoon. Dramatic video of the incident has been released as questions linger over use of force and how New York City does or does not help the mentally ill.
Jordan Neely is pictured before going to see the Michael Jackson movie,"This is It," outside the Regal Cinemas in Times Square in 2009. "One element we’ve not talked about is the billion dollars investment we have in mental health services, so we don’t have people who are homeless in our subways, many of them are in the throes of mental health episodes and that’s what I believe are some of the factors involved here.
