De Blasio described the move as a “pre-emptive strike” to prevent another wave of Covid-19 in the city, which was once the epicenter of the pandemic.De Blasio also announced the city was upping its vaccination requirement for adults to enter many businesses, including indoor dining, entertainment and fitness centers, from one dose to two doses on December 27.
Children ages 5 to 11 will be required to receive at least one dose of the vaccine to enter indoor establishments by December 14, he said.like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New Orleans, along with the island of Oahu, have adopted mandates which require proof of full or partial vaccination to enter many indoor establishments, but de Blasio’s announcement is the first to require employees of private businesses to show proof of vaccination.90%.
