Faculty said the vote of no confidence was described as an "attack" on colleagues and that they were warned of "consequences" if they proceeded.

The vote, which passed 51-20 earlier this month, publicized long-standing tensions in the college about funding, clinical resources and the university’s recent decision to close its nursing campus in Regina.

The StarPhoenix obtained two sets of meeting minutes from faculty at that council meeting. One of them had been reviewed by 10 faculty members, who asked that their names not be used. The other was sent by Dr. Helen Vandenberg, a nursing professor and advocate for the school’s faculty. She said Airni’s comments at the meeting only deepened the divide between teachers and their bosses.

The statement added, “We all want this to be a positive turning point for the College of Nursing and the university’s continued support for excellence in nursing education for our province.”Article content “As far as we’re concerned, there has been no response to the vote of no confidence … The fact is, 51 people are not happy with the direction we’re going in, “Vandenberg said in an interview last week.
