Nicholas Pagano, 31, who is considered armed and dangerous, allegedly attacked the 54-year-old woman in a hospital break room Monday, authorities said.
“An investigation revealed burned the victim and struck the victim with a wrench,” Musella said.
Surveillance video showed Pagano leaving the hospital at 5:29 a.m., according to the affidavit. A motive remained unclear on Tuesday. The victim was treated in the hospital emergency room and transferred to another medical facility for additional treatment, the prosecutor said. Nicholas Pagano was last known to be driving this 1998 white Jeep Grand Cherokee with black roof racks and New Jersey license plate S57-NJH.Pagano has been a licensed registered nurse with New Jersey since Sept. 7, 2016. His license is valid through May 31, according to the state’s Department of Consumer Affairs. He has no disciplinary records listed in the consumer affairs database.
